Suddenlink Stream is an easy to use streaming device that brings you free live channels, apps, and an advanced voice remote with Google Assistant built-in.

 

Am I eligible to get Stream?
Suddenlink Stream is available to all Suddenlink Internet customers without Suddenlink TV. The Stream device is owned by Suddenlink and rented to you monthly.

I am already a customer with Suddenlink TV and would like Stream for a spare room. Can I get Stream?
Suddenlink Stream will not work in your home if you already have Altice One or other TV services, but we are happy to provide you with an additional cable box. Please contact us for more information.

Where can I get Stream?
For new customers, you can sign up for Suddenlink Stream when you sign up for new Internet services on suddenlink.com or by calling us.

For existing customers, the easiest way to get Stream is by calling us or by visiting your local Suddenlink store. Please allow 3-5 business days for shipping.

How do I return my Stream?
You can return your Suddenlink Stream device with a prepaid FedEx shipping label or at a Suddenlink store near you.


 
 

How do I set up my Stream?
To set you your Stream, follow the steps below:

Connect Stream to your TV using the HDMI cable

Slide open the battery cover and insert the batteries

Use the power cord to connect Stream to a wall outlet

Turn on your TV and select the matching HDMI input for Stream

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete set up with your remote

How do I pair my Stream remote?

  • Press and hold Select on the remote until the remote's light begins to flash
  • From the Android TV home screen, go to Settings
  • Select Remote & Accessories to pair your remote
 

How do I connect my Stream to the Internet?

  • WiFi:
    • From the Android TV home screen, go to Settings
    • Select Network and Internet
    • Select WiFi
    • Select your Suddenlink home WiFi network and follow the onscreen instructions
  • Wired:
    • Simply plug Stream into your router or gateway with an Ethernet cable
 

How do I add another Google Account to my Stream?

  • Go to Settings
  • Select Accounts & Sign In
  • Select Add Account

If you do not already have a Google account, get one at accounts.google.com/signup

 

How do I use Google Assistant on my Stream remote?
To find what you are looking for or discover more content, you can search by using your Stream voice remote. Simply press the Google Assistant button on the remote and ask for your content, for example, say, “Play Cheddar”, “Search for cat videos on YouTube”, “Find Fast and the Furious” or “Find me movies with Ryan Gosling.” You can even ask for music, see the weather, find restaurants and much, much more.

The results will be displayed on your screen for you to select.

How do I use my smartphone as a remote for Stream?

You can download the Android TV remote app on your device from Google Play or Apple store.

 

How do I change the default language on my Stream?

  • Go to Settings
  • Select Device Preferences
  • Select Language
 

How do I disable Google Assistant on my Stream?
To turn the Google Assistant off:

  • From the Android TV home screen, go to Settings
  • Select Device Preferences
  • Select Google Assistant
  • Move the toggle from On to Off
 

What can I watch with Stream?
Suddenlink Stream lets you easily access all your favorite apps, including Netflix, Hulu, YouTube TV, HBO Max, and thousands more can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. You also have access to live channels, including i24, Cheddar News, and dozens more built into the Stream app.

On Demand and Pay-Per-View programming are currently not available.

How do I cast video from Chromecast-enabled apps to my Stream?
Casting to your TV is a simple way to enjoy your favorite apps optimized for the big screen. Your Suddenlink Stream device also comes with casting built-in. Visit How to cast video to learn more.

How do I download more apps?

  • Select Apps
  • Select Get More Apps
  • Select an app and follow the onscreen instructions to install it

Not all apps are compatible with Android TV and Suddenlink Stream (e.g., tablet or phone apps are not supported.)

Where are my apps, and how do I manage my home screen?
You can find all your apps, games, and entertainment on your home screen. To go to the home screen, press Home on your remote. Visit customizing your home screen to learn more.

How do I customize my channels in Stream?
To mark a channel as a favorite in the Guide view, navigate left on that channel to highlight the heart icon and press Select. The channel will be added to your favorites. You can remove a channel from the favorite list by doing the same.

You can also filter the number of channels displayed in the Guide view. When in the Guide, press and hold the select button to bring up the filters available. Choose the desired option, and the Guide will be filtered based on the option you choose.

Note: The filters are session-based. Once you exit the app, it will be reset.

 

How do I reboot my Stream?

  • From the Android TV Home Screen, go to Settings
  • Select Device Preferences
  • Select Reboot (at the bottom)
  • Review the 'Reset' message, then select Reboot

How do I replace a lost Stream remote?
Please contact us, and we will help to provide you with another remote.

How do I resolve a black screen?
If you attempted to watch a channel and you encountered a black screen, please do the following:

  • Exit the player by pressing the “Back” button
  • Select “Watch” from the details page or “Guide”

If this does not work, press the Home button on your remote, go back into the app, and try again. If you continue to experience this issue after verifying the steps above, please contact us.

I’m experiencing other issues with my Stream. What do I do?
Follow the steps below to first check your Internet connection, clear the data and cache, then check for updates. If the problem continues, restart your device. Once you have followed all the instructions and if you still experience this issue, please contact us.

  • Check your Internet connection:
    • From the Android TV Home screen, go to Settings
    • Under "Network & Internet," select WiFi
    • Select your Suddenlink home WiFi network and follow the onscreen instructions
    • Try using Stream again
  • Force quit Stream app
  • Clear Data and Cache
    • From the Android TV Home screen, go to Settings
    • Select Apps
    • Under "System apps," select Stream > Clear data
    • Try using Stream again
  • Check for updates
    • From the Android TV Home screen, go to Settings
    • Select Device Preferences > About > System update
    • Install any available updates; try using Stream again
  • Restart your device
    • From the Android TV Home screen, go to Settings
    • Select About > Restart
    • Once the system restarts, try using Stream again

How do I reset my Stream and erase all my data?

  • From the Android TV home screen, go to Settings
  • Select Device Preferences
  • Select Reboot (at the bottom)
  • Review the 'Reset' message, then select Reboot
  • Select Erase everything - allow a few minutes for the reset to complete.

A factory data reset removes all data, including Google account, system data and settings, app settings, downloaded apps, remote settings, and Internet settings.
