As of July 1, 2015, Suddenlink will only support new-customer modems that are DOCSIS 3.0 with 8 downstream channels or greater. This decision will enhance the Internet experience for all of our customers because older modems can affect download and upload speeds. If you wish to continue using your own modem, you will need to purchase one that is DOCSIS 3.0 with 8 downstream channels or greater. You can purchase DOCSIS 3.0 modems with 8 downstream channels or greater either from Suddenlink or from a store that sells such modems. If you prefer, you can also lease a modem from Suddenlink.
Note: New internet customers who subscribe to 200Mbs or higher speeds and existing customers who subscribe to anything higher than 200Mbs speed must lease or purchase a modem from Suddenlink to ensure compatibility.
