Adding Your Suddenlink Email Account
Before you start you will need:
Your Suddenlink e-mail address and password
Incoming and Outgoing mail servers for your area
Setting up Outlook Express 6
Double click on the Outlook Express icon to open the program
Select Tools on the top menu
Click on Accounts
Click the Add button on the right
Click on Mail
Fill out display name with the name you would like associated with your suddenlink email address.
Click Next
Enter in your suddenlink email address
Click Next
Ensure the top drop down box reads POP3
Type POP.suddenlink.net in the incoming mail server box
Type SMTP.suddenlink.net in the outgoing mail server box
Click Next
Type you entire email address in the username field
Type in the password you selected for you Suddenlink email address in the Password field
Click Next
Click Finish
Back on the Internet Accounts Screen ensure you have the mail tab selected and the account you just created highlighted
Click on Properties
Click Servers tab
Click the check box at the bottom that reads “My Server Requires Authentication” (ensure the box is checked and not blank)
Click Ok
Click Close on the internet accounts screen
